Very few meals bring family and friends together in quite the same way as pizza. And that doesn’t always mean sitting around the table, minding your manners...
Pizza is almost synonymous with good times and fun.
However, if you follow a healthy low-carb or grain-free diet, this old-world comfort food is unfortunately off the menu.

Years ago, when we said goodbye to wheat, one of the hardest dishes to ditch was pizza. There is just so much to love about it!
So, we began a mission to create a REAL crusty-chewy pizza crust… without the gluten, grains, carbs and health-harming ingredients found in most crusts.
Our goal was not just to create a “healthier” product. It also had to match the taste and texture of the original… and hold up to a heaping pile of toppings!
In our quest to “Save Pizza Night” we also tested dozens of gluten-free crusts from stores, restaurants and recipe books, only to be universally disappointed.
The gluten-free crusts we experimented with often puffed up into a dense “cake” or a fluffy bread that would sop up the tomato sauce and become a soggy mess. Others were crumbly and fell apart at the slightest touch.
And we must warn you…
The taste and texture might not be the worst part, because many so-called “healthy” gluten-free pizzas use high-glycemic ingredients that pack more carbs than a traditional pizza crust!
And while the cauliflower “crusts” boast a better nutritional profile, they are often so limp they can’t even be picked up.

PALEO PIZZA CRUST INGREDIENTS: Almond Flour, Organic Arrowroot Flour, Organic Psyllium Husk, Sea Salt, Garlic Powder.

Ingredients
1 1/4 cup Paleo Pizza Crust Mix
1 large pastured egg or "flax egg"
1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil
¼ cup water
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425 F. Place a pizza stone in the oven to preheat (optional, but produces best results). Otherwise, use a greased pan.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk water, oil and egg. Add measured amount of Paleo Pizza Crust Mix.
3. Stir with a silicone spatural to form a dough. Roll dough into a ball.
4. Place dough ball onto a piece of parchment paper or onto greased pan. Oil your hands to prevent sticking.
5. Flatten dough into a circle of desired thickness and diameter. Carefully transfer to the pre-heated pizza stone.
6. Bake without toppings until golden (6-8 minutes). Remove crust from oven and add toppings. Return to oven and continue baking to desired doneness.
NOTE: For egg-free preparation use a "flax egg". Create "egg" by combining 1 Tbsp. ground organic flaxseed with 2.5 Tbsp. water. Let stand 5 minutes.
And best of all, the preparation for Paleo Pizza Crust is foolproof.
All you need is an egg (or egg substitute), a little water and some healthy oil. Mix the ingredients, shape the dough into a circle and pop it in the oven for a few minutes.
Once your crust is firm, roll out the marinara, add your favorite ingredients and bake again until the cheese is melted, the crust is golden and your toppings are sizzling.
It’s so simple you can have a pizza on the table in about 15 minutes!

Wellness Bakeries was founded in 2006, with the mission to create the world’s healthiest and best-tasting gluten-free, carb-conscious, baking mixes.
Our goal was to make it easy for you to enjoy decadent desserts, chewy breads, crusty pizza, fluffy pancakes, crispy waffles and other sweet treats – that would not sour your health!
When we started this journey, there were no options for truly healthy baking mixes.
Everything was loaded with inflammatory grains, fake fats and sugar…or even worse, artificial sweeteners. We knew there had to be a better – and MUCH healthier – way.
So, with our backgrounds in health research, nutritional biochemistry and recipe development, we set out to use grain-free flours, healthy, slimming fats and natural no-sugar sweeteners to match the taste, texture and flavor of our favorite comfort foods.
At the time, very few people had even heard the term “gluten free.” There were no products to taste for inspiration and no recipe books to follow. It was all trial… and LOTS of errors.
Eventually, however, the experiments paid off. We discovered a few secrets. And then we made small, incremental improvements… perfecting one delicious product at a time.
